Sambar vadai is urad dal vadai, soaked in mild and flavourful sambar. I recently only developed taste for After their chutneys, I like their sambar vada. I have it often but the best sambar vada here in. It is popular in South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisines.

Instructions to make Sambar vada:
  1. Soak urad daal for two hours.
  2. Grind it with two green chilli and ginger.
  3. Add very little water while grinding.
  4. Make smooth batter and add hing salt and pepper powder.
  5. Whisk batter well Give vada shape.
  6. Fry vadas until golden brown on medium hot oil.
  7. Boil arhar daal in 3 cups water
  8. Mash well.
  9. In a pan take one table spoon oil.
  10. When hot add mustardurad daal and curry leaves.
  11. Add chopped onion tomato and green chilli.
  12. When tomatoes are mushy add salt haldi red chilli powder and sambar masala.
  13. Add mashed daal, enough water and bring it to boil.
  14. Finally add tamrind pulp.
  15. Soak vadas in diluted sambar first.
  16. While serving pour thick sambar.
  17. Garnish with coriander and chopped onion.

Sambar Vada - Crispy medhu vadas soaked in piping hot sambar topped with chopped onions and a drizzle of ghee makes this popular restaurant dish very appetizing.
