The ingredients needed to make Instant Suji Idli:
  1. Make ready 1 cup Suji :
  2. Prepare 1 cup Curd :
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup Rice flour :
  4. Prepare as required Water to make batter
  5. Take 1 Carrot grated
  6. Make ready 1 Onion chopped
  7. Make ready 2 Green chillies : chopped
  8. Make ready 1 tbsp Ginger grated
  9. Get 1 tsp Mustard seeds roasted
  10. Make ready 1 tsp Cumin seeds roasted
  11. Make ready 1 tsp Roasted chana dal :
  12. Make ready to taste Salt
  13. Prepare 1 tsp Roasted white Urad dal :
  14. Get to taste Salt
  15. Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  16. Get to taste Red chilli powder
  17. Take 2 tsp Baking soda :
  18. Take as required Oil for greasing idli stand

Suji idli is are fast becoming an alternate to rice idli. Instant suji idli can be made in a jiffy and are light on the tummy too. Sooji idli with eno can be made for lunch box or picnic or even for a journey. Rava Idli Recipe is a soft pillowy instant suji (semolina) idli.

Steps to make Instant Suji Idli:
  1. In a mixing bowl add suji, rice flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, white urad dal, curd and mix well.
  2. Add in water as per need to make the batter. The batter should be of medium consistency neither too thick nor too thin. Set aside for 15 mins.
  3. Add in onion, carrot, green chilli ginger and mix well.
  4. Add in baking soda and mix well. Heat water in idli cooker and grease idli stand with oil. Pour the batter with spoon in the idli stand.
  5. When the water is boiled slow the flame and place idli stand inside the cooker and cover it. Steam it on high flame for 10 mins.
  6. Switch off the gas and take out the idli stand. Now remove idlies with the help of knife. Repeate the same process for rest of the batter.
  7. Instant suji idli is ready to serve. Serve hot with sambar.
  8. Tip - Add vegetables of your choice.

It is a quick version of regular rice idli prepared with semolina and curd. Rava Idly is an easy breakfast dish.
